So, how much can you expect to earn if you choose a career in PR? Here’s a round up of some recent PR salary surveys…

All about the money

Salaries in PR will vary not only based on the ‘level’ of a job, but also on which industry you are doing PR in. Financial, healthcare and B-to-B technology PR are the highest paying sectors. Celebrity, make-up and fashion PR are the lowest paid. Why? Because everyone wants to do it! The less fashionable pharmaceuticals industry pays better because it’s less attractive to work in. Not everyone wants to promote erectile dysfunctional drugs!

Average agency salaries by job role

  1. Account Assistant/Executive – £18,000—£20,000
  2. Senior Account Executive – £25,000–30,000
  3. Account Manager – £32,000
  4. Account Director – £32,000–45,000
  5. Board Director – £45,000–50,000
  6. Managing Director – £60,000
