Frequently asked questions

What is the interview process like?

Interviews will take place in London. They will last between 20 and 30 minutes, and you will primarily be asked to expand on the answers you have given in your application form.

Is there any preparation I should do before I join this programme?

No. Just turn up with lots of energy and focus on what you want to get out of the programme. All course materials and equipment will be provided.

What hours will I work? There is a day in the middle of the programme which I have to take off, is that possible?

Participants will be expected to work business hours throughout the ten week programme. This means you should attend every day, though some exceptions can be made. You should speak to the programme administrator if you need to take time out.

What do I wear?

There is no strict dress code at unicornjobs.com, but your dress should be appropriate to the work you’re doing on any one day. If you are interviewing someone in the City, perhaps for an article on ‘working in an investment bank’, then what you wear would be different than if you were interviewing someone in the music industry, for an article on ‘working at a record label’.

When do I pay?

Fees will need to be paid before the programme commences. Details of how to pay will be provided upon acceptance onto the scheme.

Where are you based?

unicornjobs.com is based on Shoreditch High Street in central London, so you will need to be living within commuting distance of central London, and be able to get to the office each day.

How many interns will there be?

There will be up to 10 interns on each intake.

Do I get a qualification?

unicornjobs.com doesn’t offer formal qualifications. Instead we offer you the chance to acquire a wide range of key skills, in a ‘real world’ environment, preparing and helping you to launch a career in your chosen industry or area.

Will I get a reference?

Yes. Your tutors will be happy to offer a proper written reference based on your work at unicornjobs.com.

Am I guaranteed a job?

We cannot guarantee a job at the end of the programme, but all interns receive extensive skills coaching and careers advice, and should leave the programme ready to find the right job and launch their career.
