Working In Politics

Politics is everywhere. From the impact of new legislation, to the state of education, healthcare and public transport, and of course, the taxes which pay for it all, the political process effects everyone every day in one way or another.

A political career will mean you are involved, in one way or another, in that political process. Contrary to popular belief, this does not really mean being smartly dressed, attending parliament and losing the ability to answer a straightforward question. Instead, a career in politics can mean doing some of the most varied and flexible, yet influential and cutting-edge jobs that there are.

From politicians themselves, to those who lobby, advise, assist or communicate the political process, there are many different jobs in this sector. Some can be very well paid, though most people working in politics will be driven as much by the ‘greater good’ than by personal gain. Initially anyway.
