Get two weeks of genuine work experience alongside professional journalists as a student contributor with unicornjobs.com. This free programme offers full-time two-week placements at our Shoreditch HQ. This is an excellent opportunity to hone your media skills in a deadline-driven environment, plus receive free media training and the chance to have your work published on the internet with your byline.

What you’ll do

We’ll ask you to research and write stories about different careers – you’ll interview leading figures in roles from banking to ballet, PR to pop music, sales to circus skills. You won’t be paid but you will receive training and feedback on your work and a byline when your story is published.

unicornjobs.com – this very website, which is devoted to providing careers advice to help students and recent graduates navigate the precarious route from education to work. unicornjobs.com is different from other careers sites because it is written and produced by people like you.

When and how?

We run regular student contributor programmes, and have placements available on the following dates:

Monday June 2 – Friday June 13
Monday July 7 – Friday July 18
