The Unicorn team are experienced recruiters with specialist knowledge of PR, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. Unicorn consultants work closely together on all assignments, so that employers have access to each team member’s network, and candidates will be made aware of all the roles that are relevant to their skills and experience.
The Unicorn team also work closely with their colleagues at Taylor Bennett, meaning that as candidates reach a more senior point in their careers, they can be introduced to researchers and consultants elsewhere in the Taylor Bennett Group, putting them on the radar for senior FTSE 100 and international in-house positions.
Unicorn Jobs was founded in 2007 by Heather McGregor as a sister company to Taylor Bennett, the executive search business she joined in 2000, and of which she is now principal shareholder. Unicorn complements Taylor Bennett by filling mid level roles. Heather continues to be involved in the development of the company in addition to her work as a director of Taylor Bennett. She is also an experienced journalist and broadcaster, and regularly contributes to national newspapers, magazines, radio and television programmes, including the Mrs Moneypenny column in the Financial Times and ‘SuperScrimpers’ for Channel 4.
The Unicorn team is led by Annabelle Wheeler and Seri Davies with support from Charlet Wilson. Combined they have almost 15 years experience in PR, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications recruitment.
Seri Davies has over six years’ experience in Communications recruitment. Before joining Unicorn, Seri worked at Taylor Bennett as a Desk Researcher, where she supported consultants on a broad range of senior corporate communication roles, as well as providing PA support to two members of the senior management team. Seri is an experienced hand in all aspects of client and candidate management. At Unicorn she handles roles across all levels, as well as providing back up support across the business. Seri is a Royal Holloway graduate with a degree in History.
Annabelle Wheeler joined Unicorn in early 2014. She has over seven years’ experience in communications both in-house and agency. Annabelle then moved to a search firm working on communications roles with various clients. She supported the Head of Search on high profiles searches before being promoted to a consultant. As a consultant, she has worked on various roles within media, investor relations and internal communications across all sectors as well as international assignments. Annabelle brings a wealth of experience and contacts to her work, and firmly believes in the personal touch and in delivering outstanding service to client and candidate alike. She read History of Art at The University of York.
Charlet Wilson joined Unicorn in October 2013 after graduating from Brunel University with a LLB Bachelor of Laws. She had previously undertaken an internship within the communications team at Clifford Chance LLP and is alumni of the Taylor Bennett Foundation. At Unicorn, Charlet supports the consultants with research and administrative tasks as well as managing junior candidates. She is responsible for maintaining the website and handles Unicorn’s social media platforms.
